The Mandela Effect refers to a situation in which a large mass of people believes that an event occurred when it did not. Or some aspect of history is different from reality.

The Mandela effect is a phenomenon where a number of people remember events, sayings, or images differently than they actually are.

Theories

People are just misremembering.

We are shifting between alternate relaities. People will use quantum physics or all kinds of complicated science to try and explain this.

Residue – real-world examples that things used to be the way people are imagining.

The original Mandela effect comes from people thinking that Nelson Mandela died in an African prison in the 80s. The reality though is that he didn’t die until 2013.

Most popular one for me and the first one I heard about – Berenstein bears are actually Berenstain bears.

Star Wars – Luke I am your father – No, I am your father

Snow white – Mirror mirror on the wall – Magic mirror on the wall

Where New Zealand is located on a map in relation to Australia. Some people think it’s North instead of South

Monopoly man doesn’t have a monocle. Despite Jim Carrey doing an impression of him in Ace Ventura with one. Might be confusing with the Planters peanut

A movie called Shazaam starring the actor Sinbad doesn’t actually exist but people think it does.

Looney Tunes not Toons. It makes no sense, there isn’t really any music in the show

Curious George doesnt have a tail

Mona Lisa smile is less obvious – it’s pretty subtle i think

Froot Loops not Fruit Loops

Febreze not Febreeze

Fruit of The Loom logo used to have a cornucopia

I love lucy – Ricky rickardo “Lucy you have some splaining to do” – never said it

Joan Jett I love rock and roll – “Saw him dancing there by the record machien” not standing

Oscar Mayer not Oscar Meyer

Skechers – No T

Forrest Gump – Life WAS like a box of chocolates

No hyphen in Kit Kat chocolate

Double Stuf Oreo not Double Stuff or Stuffed

Cheez-it not Cheez-itz

C3PO in Star Wars has a silver leg. I think the way the light reflects off it sometimes it’s hard to tell. Toys all pretty much just have gold legs. What’s weirder to me is that sometimes he has a red arm.

Flintstones has 2 Ts. Some people say Flinstones. To me this one doesnt make sense, I see it the other way.

Some people think chartreuse is a shade of pink but actually it’s a shade of green

Mr Rogers – It’s a beautiful day in THIS neighborhood, not the

Smokey bear not smokey the bear

Thanks for listening
